TEMPE, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team downed New Mexico State by the score of 4-0 for the second time in a month to open play Friday at the ASU 8-Team Spring Invitational at the Kiwanis Tennis Center.
The Rebels improved to 7-3 overall while the Aggies fell to 2-9 after what was the 12th consecutive UNLV win in the regional rivalry.
The Rebels took both completed doubles matches after a spirited session and then clinched things with a trio of straight-set singles victories from
Anton Ornberg,
Aaron Bailey and
Dusan Rsovac.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Bailey was the lone Rebel to go 2-0 on the day, teaming up with
Zach Garner for a 6-3 win in doubles on court two and then sweeping Roko Stipetic, 6-0, 6-3, at the third spot in the singles lineup.
