TEMPE, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team closed out the ASU 8-Team Spring Invitational on Sunday by taking on in-state rival UNR and dropped the neutral-site meeting 4-1 at the Kiwanis Tennis Center.
In a result that will count as a non-conference matchup, the Rebels fell to 7-5 overall while the Wolf Pack improved to 2-5.
UNLV started strong by taking a 1-0 lead after doubles.
Maxim Verboven and
Milos Dabic won 6-3 at the top of the lineup while
Zach Garner and
Aaron Bailey clinched the point with their own 6-3 victory on court two.
UNR rallied in singles, however, taking four straight-setters to end things.
UP NEXT: UNLV will host Grand Canyon on Friday starting with doubles play at 1 p.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
