ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team fell 4-1 at No. 60 New Mexico in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon at the McKinnon Tennis Stadium.
The Rebels dropped to 12-10 overall and finished 3-3 in the Mountain West while the Lobos put the finishing touches on an undefeated run through the league to go with a 14-5 overall mark.
The hosts actually had to rally for the victory as UNLV captured the doubles point. Jackson Atherton and Anton Ornberg won 7-6 at the second position while Aaron Bailey and Dusan Rsovac won 7-5 on court three to clinch the 1-0 lead.
In singles play, UNLV only took one set as the Lobos claimed a quartet of straight-setters to end things.
UP NEXT: UNLV will await word on its seeding and opponent at the Mountain West Championship to be played next week in Las Vegas at the Darling Tennis Center. The tournament gets underway on Wednesday.
