Myles Che To Join Men's Basketball Program

6-foot-3-inch point guard to transfer to the Runnin' Rebels from UC Irvine.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed commitment from Myles Che to join the Runnin' Rebels for the 2025-26 season, head coach Josh Pastner announced Friday.

Che, a 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound point guard from Walnut, California, is transferring from UC Irvine where he played as a sophomore this past season. He started all 38 games, averaging 12.1 points, 2.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Anteaters, while shooting 40.1% from the floor and 42.9% on 3-pointers. In addition, the All-Big West Honorable Mention honoree made 84.1% of his free-throw attempts.

Che's best performance came in March against UC Davis, when he scored a career-high 31 points on 10 of 11 shooting. His team finished the season 26-5 overall and 16-3 in conference play, advancing to the championship game of the NIT where it lost by a point in overtime.

"Myles is a tough point guard with a high basketball IQ and the ability to shoot the ball well," Pastner said. "He is a 50/50 ball winner. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Runnin' Rebel family."

Che played his freshman year at Chattanooga, where he made 16 starts in 28 appearances and averaged 7.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He totaled 54 assists and 18 steals, while shooting 53.7% from the field.

He played in high school at The Skills Factory in Atlanta, where he averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 assists per game on 52% shooting, including 42% on 3-pointers.

Che joins Mason Abittan, Naas Cunningham, Ladji Dembele, Howie Fleming Jr., Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn, Al Green, Kimani Hamilton, Tyrin Jones, Emmanuel Stephen and Issac Williamson as incoming players to the Runnin' Rebel program for the 2025-26 season. James Evans Jr. and Jacob Bannarbie have also committed to return to the program from last season's roster.
