The Rebel senior claimed Mountain West Single and Doubles Championships at the Darling Tennis Center
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's tennis senior Nikol Mircheva was named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
Mircheva is the first women's tennis player to earn the award for the 2026-27 academic year.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
Mircheva swept the Mountain West crowns, winning the program's first MW singles championship to go along with the doubles championship. To earn the doubles title, Mircheva played alongside fellow senior Hudson Hawkins, defeating Grand Canyon's Isabella Crossman and Gala Arangio 7-5, 6-3 on Saturday. A day later, Mircheva finished the sweep of the conference crowns by taking down New Mexico's Yu Yan Tsai, 6-3, 6-3.
With the victories in the finals, Mircheva earned an automatic bid into the ITA Conference Masters, which is a feed-in event for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
