Zach Little each shot under par in the final round as the UNLV men's golf team picked up its second straight top-5 finish Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72, 7,617 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: At the top of the Rebel lineup, Van Hauwe put together a final-round 6-under 66 and Little added another 1-under 71 round as they both went on to tie for sixth at 8-under 208 for the tournament. Contributing a third top-20 Rebel finish, senior
Ryan Abuan tied for 16th at 4-under 216. Senior
Mason Snyder (+7) tied for 67th and junior
Baylor Bostick finished 87th competing as an individual.
As a team, the Scarlet & Gray wound up with a par-or-better scorecard in every round of the three-day event after it shot a final-round even-par 288. The Rebels walked into the clubhouse with a fifth-place finish at 16-under 848.
CHAMPIONS: East Tennessee claimed the team title at 32-under 832, overtaking the previous leader USC by three shots. Chattanooga's Evan Rogers earned individual medalist honors.
UP NEXT: UNLV will wrap up its fall tournament slate with a cross-country trek to Wilmington, North Carolina, for The Williams Cup being hosted by North Carolina Oct. 18-20.
