AT UNLV: Joined the Rebels for his final season after posting a highly honored career on both the Division II and junior college levels … Last name is pronounced “BULL-is” … Made quite a first impression in September by winning the Flight One singles championship of the annual Larry Easley Memorial Classic at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on campus … Bulus, the event's No. 1 seed, did not lose even a set in four matches, finishing off Gonzaga's second-seeded Sasha Trkulja in the final, 6-3, 6-4.
AT WEST ALABAMA: Spent two seasons starring at the NCAA Division II school located in Livingston, AL … Compiled a record of 22-5 in singles and 20-6 in doubles for the Tigers.
2021: Received ITA Division II All-America honors in singles after being named Gulf South Conference Tennis Player of the Year … Finished the season ranked No. 4 in the nation on the NCAA Division II level … Posted a 14-2 mark in the spring season playing at the No. 1 spot in the lineup … Went 12-4 in doubles … Also named a member of the 2021 Gulf South Conference Spring All-Academic Team.
2020: Named ITA D-II All-America in doubles with partner Ilari Vesanen … Went 8-3 playing No. 1 and No. 2 singles in pandemic-shortened season after transferring in from junior college ... Was 8-2 playing at No.1 doubles ... ITA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-GSC honoree ... Won the ITA Summer Singles Circuit in Corpus Christi, TX … Bulus won three matches on the first day of the competition before taking down Jake Faryniarz of San Antonio, 6-0, 6-1, in the semifinals and Javier Gonzalez Huerta from the UTSA, 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) in the finals.
AT JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent two seasons at New Mexico Military Institute, earning his associate of arts degree from the school located in Roswell, NM … Compiled a record of 31-9 for the Broncos.
2019: Helped NMMI to an eighth-place national finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division I Championships.
2018: As a freshman, helped NMMI finish 11th in the nation at the NJCAA Championships … Playing at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, led the Broncos to a win over Collin College in Plano, TX, to bring home the Region V Championship trophy.
