Biography
2006-07 (Junior): Swam well at the MWC meet, as he helped the 200 medley relay to a second place finish ... finished second in the 200 IM, clocking a 1:49.72 ... also finished second in the 100 back with a time of 49.38 ... helped the 400 medley relay take the top spot in that event ... was runner-up in the 200 back (1:48.46).
2005-06 (Sophomore): Had an impressive performance at the MWC Championships, with sixth place finishes in both the 100 back (50.47) and the 200 IM (1:51.92) while also earning a seventh-place finish in the 200 back in 1:50.26 ... led off the Rebels[apos] first-place 200 medley relay as well.
2004-05 (Freshman): Took fifth in the 100 back (50.77), seventh in the 200 back (1:51.75) and added an 11th place finish in the 500 free (4:35.90) at the MWC Championships.
High School: Eleven-time city champion over his last two years at Ross Sheppard ... holds school records in the 50 and 100 back.
Club: Swam nine years for Edmonton Keyano Swim Club ... earned a bronze medal at the 2001 Canada Summer games and in the Senior Nationals in the 400 free relay.
Personal: Devin Brent Phillips ... born on May 7, 1985, in Edmonton, Alberta ... son of Rod and Debby Phillips ... has one sister, Quinn (25) ... cousin plays hockey for the Ottawa Senators ... majoring in kinesiology ... enjoys biking and playing his guitar.
