@UNLVAthletics LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois announced today the hiring of Eric Nepomuceno, senior associate director of athletics for compliance.
Nepomuceno will lead and administer the operations of UNLV Athletics' compliance program, including rules education, enforcement issues, reviews, investigations, and will provide oversight of department policies and procedures. He will also serve as a member of the athletics department's executive and senior staffs.

"We have a strong commitment to compliance at UNLV and Eric's experience, his education, which includes a law degree, his emphasis on the student-athlete and his demonstrated commitment to our core values make him a great fit.

Nepomuceno comes to Las Vegas after six years at Northeastern University. Most recently, he has served as associate athletics director for compliance and enrollment services for the Huskies, leading all aspects of NCAA compliance and student-athlete enrollment, while also serving as the sport supervisor for baseball, women's ice hockey, women's soccer and volleyball.
At Northeastern, Nepomuceno formed the Student-Athlete Welfare Advancement Team (S.W.A.T.), which is comprised of various departments across campus with the mission to promote a positive student-athlete experience. He has also been a member of the NCAA Division I Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee and was the co-chair for the university's Gender Equity Committee.

Prior to his time at Northeastern, Nepomuceno spent three years as the coordinator of eligibility and recruiting for Stony Brook University. He has also worked in compliance at Queens College, worked at the National Football League and served as a pro personnel assistant for the NFL's New York Jets.
A native of Queens, New York, Nepomuceno graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in sports management and communication and then earned his Juris Doctor in 2007 from Loyola University Law School in New Orleans.
Eric and his wife, Marka, have two sons, Lucas and A.J.
