LAS VEGAS - Fans planning to travel to UNLV's football game at Wisconsin this fall can sign up for a special package the school announced.
Organized by Big Dog's Hospitality Group and UNLV, the Big Dog's Rebel-Badger Weekend allows Rebel fans and transplanted Wisconsin fans to attend the schools' non-conference match-up on September 19 at 1 p.m. (CDT) at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
The package, which runs from September 17-19, includes round-trip airfare on a Funjet chartered flight, two-night stay, ground transportation, a trip to the farmers market, a fish fry and a ticket to the game. Prices are $795 for single occupancy and $695 per person for double occupancy.
Availability is limited and anyone interested should call for reservations by contacting Michelle Dewey of Big Dog's Hospitality Group at (702) 368-3715 (Ext. 114). Prices increase after July 15.
The UNLV and Wisconsin rivalry began in 1985 when UNLV made its only trip to Madison. The Rebels met the Badgers one year later when a then-record crowd of 32,207 watched UNLV win 17-7 for its only victory over a Big 10 school. Wisconsin returned to Sam Boyd Stadium in 1996 and helped rewrite the UNLV record book when 40,091 fans made up what was then the largest crowd for a team sporting event in state history.
