The UNLV Women's Sports Foundation recently elected its executive committee members for the 2002-03 fiscal year. The slate was nominated and approved at the annual meeting earlier this month.
Rhonda Mushkin, who has served on the foundation board for one year, was elected to her first term as chair of the organization. Mushkin, a local attorney with Rhonda L. Mushkin, Chartered, will preside over the committee until July 2003.
Ingrid Reisman, Public Information Administrator for the Regional Transportation Commission, was approved as the chair-elect. Reisman is entering her second year on the board and will oversee the membership and nominating committees.
Vaune Kadlubek, UNLV Assistant Director of Soccer/Academic Advisor, was named vice-chair. Kadlubek, a former student-athlete and swimming and diving coach at UNLV, is serving her eighth year on the executive committee.
Ted Henderson of Insurcorp was voted to his fourth term as secretary. Henderson is the parent of a former UNLV student-athlete and will also continue to serve as the gender equity committee chair.
Lydia A. Salo of L.A. Salo CPA Ltd. was re-elected treasurer for the organization for a sixth term.
The UNLV Women's Sports Foundation and its members seek to secure public/private partnerships in order to support the viability and to increase the exposure of UNLV and its women's athletics programs. Specifically, the foundation funds post-eligibility scholarships for women athletes and hosts the annual athletics awards banquet, along with other special events, which serve to increase the community's awareness. The UNLV Women's Sports Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization under Internal Revenue Code.
