Marlene Navor has been hired as assistant sports information director at UNLV, the athletics department announced Tuesday.
Navor comes to Rebel athletics from the University of Connecticut where she was an athletic communications assistant for one year. Prior to working for Husky athletics, she was a student assistant in the Washington State University athletic media relations office for four years.
In addition to SID work, Navor has worked in the newspaper field serving as sports editor of the Summer Evergreen in 1999 and as a staff writer and columnist for the Daily Evergreen from 1996-98. Both papers are in Pullman, Wash.
At UNLV, Navor will handle the daily media relations and sports information duties for women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and track & field/cross country.
A 2000 graduate of Washington State, Navor earned her bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism and a minor in sport management.
