LAS VEGAS - UNLV Athletics and Southwest Airlines have teamed up create the Sports Dream Raffle that will send three lucky winners each to three of the nation's largest sporting events and will include airfare, hotel accommodations and two tickets.
Winners will have the opportunity to select three of the following major national sporting events: the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2004 in Pasadena, Calif., the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 2 in Phoenix, Ariz., the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 in Houston, Texas, the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 15 in Los Angeles, Calif., the Kentucky Derby on May 2-3 in Louisville, Ky., the Indianapolis 500 on May 26 in Indianapolis, Ind., the NCAA Final Four on April 3-5 in San Antonio, Texas, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 15 in Houston and the U.S. Open (tennis) in Sept. in Flushing, N.Y.
The first raffle winner will get first choice of three events, followed by the second winner and finally, the third.
Raffle tickets are $10 and all proceeds benefit UNLV Athletics.
Tickets may be purchased online at UNLVtickets.com, at any fall UNLV home sporting event (football - west side concourse, soccer - stadium entrance, volleyball - arena concourse), or by calling 702-895-0303.
To assist in the relaunched sales efforts, Southwest Airlines employees will be on hand at the UNLV football season opener on Friday, Aug. 29 vs. Toledo to sell tickets.
The raffle winners will be announced at a drawing that will be held on November 21 at halftime of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels home opener vs. Delaware State.
