LAS VEGAS - The 37th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team used its depth in both singles and doubles to defeat New Mexico State, 6-3, Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels improved to 3-0 while the Roadrunners fell to 2-1 on the year. NMSU won the top two singles matches as well as No. 1 doubles for its three points. UNLV, however, got straight-set wins from Veronica Goude, Lisa Annebro, Britta Gabl and Marcella Valkenhoff in singles. In doubles, Goude and Gabl teamed up for one victory and Annebro and Valkenhoff won at No. 3 for the final point.
The Lady Rebels are off until heading out to their first road match on Feb. 14 against Arizona State.
