Former UNLV standout men’s tennis player Alexandr Cozbinov joined his alma mater’s coaching staff under head coach Andy Jackson in spring 2024.
A longtime professional player, Cozbinov has a career-high ATP singles ranking of 420 achieved in August 2023. His career-high ATP doubles ranking of 237 came in August of 2022.
Representing his home nation of Moldova, Cozbinov also holds a career record of 15-5 in Davis Cup action. In January 2020, he participated at the ATP Cup as a member of the Moldovan team.
A three-time All-Mountain West honoree for the Rebels, Cozbinov was named the 2018 Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and ITA Mountain Region Senior of the Year after a season that saw him earn a spot in the NCAA Singles Tournament. His UNLV record of 74-35 included upsetting the nation’s top-ranked player, Martin Redlicki of UCLA, on Feb. 10, 2018.
