Andy Grossman is in his 28th year overall at UNLV and 15th as a member of the athletics department's senior staff. He was promoted to assistant athletics director for communications in 2009, then to associate AD in 2015 and senior associate in 2021. Most recently, in July 2024, Grossman was promoted to executive senior associate athletics director for strategic communications & creative content.

Is his current role, Grossman serves on the athletics department's senior executive, executive, and senior staffs, and is the primary spokesperson for the organization. He is also responsible for implementing comprehensive external communications strategies aimed at promoting and advancing the mission of UNLV Athletics. Grossman also provides strategic advice to senior administrators and head coaches on communications matters and oversees the day-to-day operations of the strategic communications department. This includes managing the sports information directors, media relations efforts and social media initiatives for UNLV's 17 NCAA Division I sports programs.

Additionally, Grossman serves as the primary communications and media contact for the UNLV Runnin' Rebel men's basketball program. He also is the sport administrator for men's and women's golf and oversees the creative services unit, which includes athletics video production and graphic design. Grossman also serves as the media coordinator for NCAA Championship events in Las Vegas, where UNLV is the host institution, partnering with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). As part of those responsibilities, he was also the co-media coordinator for the first NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Regional to be held in Las Vegas in 2023 at T-Mobile Arena, teaming up with colleagues from MGM Resorts on the event.

A graduate of the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in media arts in 1996, Grossman arrived in Las Vegas that same year to become an intern in the UNLV Sports Information Department. The following year, he was hired full-time as an assistant sports information director. In 2000 he briefly left UNLV to work in the public relations department at Mirage Resorts, Inc., on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. Later that year after the company became MGM Mirage, he returned to UNLV Athletics as the director of media relations.

A native of Irvine, California, Grossman lives in Henderson, Nevada, with his wife, Melissa, a former student-athlete who swam for the Rebels. They have three children: Hannah (25), Jake (21) and Noah (16). Hannah and Jake are both former collegiate student-athletes.
