Chris Nelson is in his second year working full time at UNLV. 

He started as a student equipment manager his senior year, while pursuing his degree at UNLV and now is the assistant director of athletic equipment, overseeing the sports of men’s basketball and volleyball.

Nelson came back to the desert after serving two years as the assistant equipment manager for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, he earned his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from UNLV in 2015.
