Nicky Garritano, a 2026 UNLV graduate and a member of the 2025 and 2026 Hustlin' Rebels, joins his father, Nick on the 2027 staff. Garritano completed his two-year career at UNLV after appearing in 30 games over the 2025 and 2026 seasons. During his junior campaign in 2025, he emerged as one of the Rebels' top hitters, batting .393 (11-for-28) with one home run, one double, one triple and five RBI while posting a .607 slugging percentage and .469 on-base percentage. He recorded four multi-hit games, including a season-high three-hit performance against San Jose State, and hit his lone home run of the season at Utah Tech.
As a senior in 2026, Garritano appeared in 16 games with two starts, recording two doubles, two RBI and one run scored. Both of his hits came against San Jose State, and he finished the season with a .952 fielding percentage. Off the field, he earned UNLV Dean's List honors in both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.
Prior to transferring to UNLV, Garritano put together an outstanding career at the College of Southern Nevada, earning the 2023 NJCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Award, 2023 SWAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and First Team All-SWAC recognition. He was also named a 2023 NJCAA Academic All-American. Before beginning his collegiate career, he was a First Team All-Region infielder during his senior season at Green Valley High School and earned Scholar Athlete recognition.
The son of Camille and Nick Garritano, he graduated from UNLV in May of 2026 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies.
