Tony Terrell

Tony Terrell, Ph.D.

Dr. Tony Terrell is UNLV's Faculty Athletics Representative and the Honors College Director of Advising and Recruitment.

He is a three-time graduate of UNLV (B.A.’02, M.Ed.’07, Ph.D.’12), UNLV Athletics Hall of Famer, and Rebel Pride Ambassador. He has been a higher education professional for over 20 years at UNLV and a Nevada resident for over 26 years. His employment history at UNLV is unique and centered around student learning, service, and success.

Working with students as an admissions/recruitment counselor, academic advisor, professor, and administrator equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the student experience and the ability to educate and engage them from matriculation to graduation and beyond. In 2015, he received the UNLV Academic Advisor of the Year Award and was named the UNLV Senior Administrative Faculty of the Year Award recipient in Spring 2024.

For over 12 years, he’s taught (and is currently serving as an adjunct instructor) 100-level, 300/400-level, First-Year Seminar, and Culminating
Experience courses at UNLV. The Southern California native has mentored countless UNLV students. As a former student-athlete and alumnus, he takes pride in his alma mater and loves to show it on campus, in the community, and at athletic events.
