UNLV played a hard fought match against #14 Stanford in the Stanford/Nike Tournament and came away with a 1-0 loss. The Cardinal scored in the 82nd minute on a goal by Simon Elliott with the assist to Matt Moses.

Stanford out shot the Rebels 14 to five and had 11 corners to UNLV's two. Despite having control of the match throughout the 90 minutes, Stanford could not score until there was less than eight minutes left on the clock.

Second round action of the Stanford/Nike Tournament takes place Sunday when UNLV faces California. The game time is set for 11:00am. The Rebels return next weekend for their conference opener against Air Force, Friday at 7:00pm.
