LAS VEGAS - The Rebel softball team was back in action today at Rebel Diamond for their third and final game against San Jose State (5-12, 0-3 WAC). The Rebels made a clean sweep in their conference series opener with a 4-0 shut out to go 9-6 overall and 3-0 in the WAC.

The Rebels scored all four of their runs in the third inning. Linda Garza doubled in the Rebels first run to get things started and two batters later Raven Coberg hit a double into centerfield to score three runs. The Rebels finished the game with 10 hits, including multiple-hit games for Coberg and Erica Vollweiler. Nicole Truax picked up her first win of the season to go 1-3 on the year. Truax gave up four hits while walking three and striking out five.

UNLV is back in action next Sunday, March 7 for a non-conference doubleheader against Cal State Northridge. The games begin at noon.
