March 19, 1998FULLERTON, Ca.- The UNLV softball team lost two tough games to open up the Kia Klassic Tournament in at Cal State Fullerton today.
In the first game vs. No. 11 Texas, Brandi Isgar pitched seven and one third innings. She gave up 9 hits and fanned 5 while keeping the Longhorns scoreless. But due to the International Tie-Break rule, Texas managed the game's only run in the eighth, serving the Rebels the loss. Texas managed to keep the Rebels to just one hit in the game.
In the second game against Georgia State, Stephanee Italiano went three for four- with three RBIs and one run scored. But it wasn't enough as Georgia State won 6 to 4. Brandee Isgar suffered the loss to fall to 6 and 9 for the season.
The Rebels continue competition in the Kia Klassic tommorrow at 11AM as they face Cal State Northridge.
