Volleyball Cruises Past Tulsa

LAS VEGAS - Led by junior Angie Sylvas' match-high 13 kills, the UNLV volleyball team defeated Tulsa 15-4, 15-6, 15-5, in a Western Athletic Conference match Friday at Lied Gymnasium.

The Rebels, who won their 18th game of the season, doubled last year's win total when they recorded a mark of 9-18.

UNLV (18-6, 7-2 WAC) was assisted in the win by senior Meri-de Boyer's nine digs and match-high 28 assists. Sylvas only had two errors in 20 attempts for a hitting percentage of .550.

Tulsa (9-13, 1-9 WAC) was led by junior Juliet Klemm's seven kills.

UNLV out-hit the Golden Hurricane .378 to .024 for the match and recorded 37 kills to TU's 22. The Rebels also out-dug Tulsa 39-22 and recorded 37 assists to TU's 21.

UNLV will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 7, as it hosts Rice at Lied Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
