LAS VEGAS - Led by senior Meri-de Boyer's triple-double of 55 assists, 11 block assists and 10 digs, the UNLV volleyball team defeated TCU 15-4, 13-15, 14-16, 15-7, 15-8 in a Western Athletic Conference match Saturday at Lied Gymnasium.
The victory was the 10th in a row for the Rebels, extending their program record for most consecutive victories.
Juniors Angie Sylvas and Christel Eves each recorded a match-high 16 kills as UNLV improved its record to 16-3 overall and remained unbeaten in WAC play at 5-0. The Rebels currently sit in a tie for first in the WAC's Mountain Division with Colorado State who is also 5-0 in conference play.
Sylvas also had a team-high 11 digs for the double-double, while junior Danielle Gerlach recorded 10 digs.
TCU (3-17, 0-5 WAC) was led by junior Jill Pape's team-high 12 kills. Sophomore Bethany Toce recorded a match-high 12 digs.
The Rebels out-hit the Volleyfrogs .290 to .120 for the match and recorded 72 kills to TCU's 48. UNLV also out-dug TCU 59-51.
UNLV's next action will be Friday, Oct. 23 as it travels to Laramie, Wyo., to face Wyoming at 7:00 p.m MT.
