Volleyball Falls to UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. - Led by sophomore Larissa Carter's team-high 20 kills, UC Irvine defeated the UNLV volleyball team 15-10, 14-16, 15-10, 15-10, in a non-conference match Wednesday at Crawford Hall.

UC Irvine (8-17) was assisted in the win by freshman Michelle Wong's team-high 17 digs. Junior Tandie Wade added a double-double of 14 kills and 13 digs for the Anteaters.

UNLV (16-6) was led by junior Jeanette Graves' career-high of 25 kills. She also added 12 digs for the double-double. Junior Christel Eves also turned in a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs, while Meri-de Boyer recorded match-highs of 65 assists and 17 digs.

The Rebels were out-hit by the Anteaters .241 to .207 for the match. UNLV recorded 75 kills to UCI's 72, 77 digs to its 69 and 60 assists to the Anteaters' 63.

UNLV will now travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to open the second-half of the WAC season in a match with Air Force on Friday, Oct. 30.
