LAS VEGAS - UNLV Lady Rebel Head Coach Regina Miller announced Thursday that Linda Frohlich has signed a national letter of intent to attend UNLV beginning in fall 1998. Frohlich, a 6-3 guard/forward from Oldendorf, Germany, became Miller's first signee at UNLV.

She also was named the MVP of the challenge round of the European Championships. Prior to playing on the national team, she was a member of the junior national team in Germany for two years.

Frohlich, who currently plays for S.C. Rist Wedel, a German club team, is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals and scored a career high 43 points in a game this season.

Frohlich, who chose UNLV over WAC Champion New Mexico, Michigan and Washington State attends Vincent Lubeck Gymnasium School in Stade, Germany, and will be a freshman in the fall.

"Linda is an outstanding student-athlete that will excel in the classroom as well as on the court," Miller said. "Linda is a very versatile player that, at 6-3, can score on the perimeter as well as inside. She will make an immediate impact on our program."
