LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Ending a month of pre-season workouts, the annual UNLV Spring Football Scrimmage kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bill "Wildcat" Morris Rebel Park on campus.
The scrimmage, which will feature the offense against the defense, is free and open to the public and scheduled to last approximately 90 minutes. It will be the 15th and final practice session for the Rebel football team, which opens its 1998 season on September 5 at Big-10 power Northwestern.
A barbecue catered by Big Dog's and Pepsi will follow at 11:30 a.m. Cost is a $5 donation to the Rebel Football Foundation and the public is invited.
The school's Sports Marketing Department will unveil the team's 1998 season ticket campaign and hand out free buttons and schedule posters. Season tickets will be on sale for this year's five-game home package for $35, $45 and $70.
Also on hand will be Rocky & Rouser, Hey 'Reb, members of the UNLV cheer and dance squads, radio remotes and a live disc jockey beginning at 9 a.m.
