LAS VEGAS - Two UNLV singles players and one doubles team highlight the 1998-99 preseason rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Monday.

Senior Asaf Tishler is listed at a career-best 27th heading into fall competition. Tishler finished ranked 48th last season with an overall record of 22-13, including his first berth into the NCAA Championships.

Also, the doubles team of Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin marked a career-best with a No. 25 ranking. Both sophomores, the pair posted a 9-7 record in 1997-98. Tishler and the doubles team will see their first competition this week in the main draw of the National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships being held in Baltimore, Md.

On the women's side, Veronica Goude squeaked into the rankings by claiming the No. 100 spot. The junior finished 21-12 last year.
