SAN DIEGO - The UNLV men's soccer team lost to San Diego 3-1 in the 1999 season opener on Wednesday night in San Diego.

UNLV trailed 1-0 at halftime. USD's Brian O'Connor scored the game's first goal at 24:35.

UNLV senior forward B.J. McNicol tied the score at 1-1 with a goal at 63:13. The assist was by junior Ryan Bindrup. USD broke the tie with a goal by midfielder Mike Piserchio at 85:38. The Torero's iced the game with a final goal by forward Levi Parker at 88:44. USD outshot UNLV 14-6.

UNLV will return home for a six-game homestand which begins on Friday, Sept. 3, in the UNLV Snickers/FILA Rebel Classic. UNLV will host West Virginia at 7 p.m. UNLV then will host Kentucky on Sunday, Sept. 5, at Noon.
