LAS VEGAS - Sophomore Tuomas Talvio (Helsinki, Finland) earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week honors for his play in the Rebels' 3-0 victory over New Mexico last Sunday at Peter Johann Field.
Talvio knocked in the game winner just 20 seconds into the match with the assist from junior Jason Melendez. With 18:19 gone, Talvio tallied his third point of the match, being on the assist-end of Melendez' goal. Talvio helped the Rebels to their first winning season since 1992 and the most victories since 1991.
For the seasons, Talvio finished second on the team in goals with seven, second in assists with five and second in scoring with 19 points. Talvio led the team in game winning goals with four.
