FULLERTON - The UNLV Rebel Softball team fell to No. 5 Oklahoma (10-5) in day two of the Kia Classic. The Rebels are now 13-12 on the year and will play No. 2 Arizona Saturday at 11:00am (PST). Arizona defeated UNLV 10-1 in the Arizona State Tournament earlier in the year.
The Rebels started the game strong scoring five runs in the first inning. Racheal Goodpaster slammed a three-run homer tallying her 6th of the season and 19th RBI. Geney Orris also homered in the same inning, driving in Linda Garza and earning her 14th RBI of the year.
After UNLV scored five runs, Lana Moran came in to pitch for Kourt Davis and held the Rebels scoreless for the remainder of the game. Oklahoma would then ring up three runs in the third inning and then seal the victory with seven more in the sixth. Oklahoma is now 33-4 on the year.
