Host Of Rebels To Play In Utah All-Star Game

Dec. 18, 2001

LAS VEGAS - Six players who completed their college football careers at UNLV last month have been named to the roster for the inaugural Paradise Bowl to be played on January 12, the game's organizers announced Tuesday.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. PST at Dixie State College's Hansen Stadium in St. George, Utah. Seniors from schools in the Mountain West, Pac-10, Big Sky, and Western Athletic conferences among others will take part in a game that will be broadcast by Fox Sports Net, including on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sport West in Southern Nevada at a time to be announced.

Former UNLV wide receiver Bobby Nero, offensive linemen Greg Hulett and Peter Tramontanas, defensive linemen Scott Parkhurst and Adrian Watson and linebacker Shanga Wilson have accepted invitations to the event.

The Rebel contingent will suit up for the UTCO All-Stars and will be coached by Bart Andrus, who is currently the head coach of the NFL Europe Amsterdam Admirals and served as the offensive coordinator for Southern Utah from 1993-95. The West All-Stars will be coached by longtime college assistant and professional scout Sark Arslanian.

Joining UNLV players from the MWC are 33 players from the other seven schools, including Air Force quarterback Keith Boyea and Utah running back Adam Tate.
