Box Score

LAS VEGAS - An 11-0 run in the first four minutes of the game was just enough fuel for the UNLV women's basketball team to destroy Eastern Washington, 84-40, Wednesday night in the Lady Rebels' return home to the Cox Pavilion.

Seniors Linda Fr?hlich (Oldendorf, Germany) and Erin Johansson (Enumclaw, Wash.) led the way for UNLV's 44-point blowout of the Eagles, marking the team's second highest margin of victory for the season. Fr?hlich claimed her sixth double-double of the year, posting a game-high 18 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Johansson shot three first half 3-pointers leading to 15 points for the night.

Prior to taking a 22-point lead into halftime, junior reserve guard Julia Gray (Riverside, Calif.) was fouled behind the 3-point line giving her a chance at a 3-point play. Gray went 2-for-3 from the charity stripe and finished the game with seven points and had two of the Lady Rebels' 18 steals of the game. Freshman Sherry McCracklin (Hazel Crest, Ill.) contributed a season-high and career-high nine points and three steals. McCracklin also took down six rebounds.

UNLV coach Regina Miller cleared the bench with key reserves seeing minutes. Senior Kinesha Davis (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) had eight points and six rebounds, while sophomore Padra Strong (Fayetteville, N.C.) turned in a career-high six points.

Eastern Washington (3-9) turned over the ball 28 times and shot only 32.1 percent from the field. Sophomore Kathleen Nygaard led the Eagles in scoring and rebounding with 15 points and 12 boards.

The Lady Rebels, who continue to receive votes in the USA TODAY and AP polls, lift their overall record to 8-1 and will next host Tennessee, Martin on Friday, Dec. 21 at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast live from the Cox Pavilion on KENO 1460 AM and via an Internet link on unlvrebels.com.
