LAS VEGAS (AP) - UNLV's Marcus Banks led five players in double figures, scoring 22 points to lead the Rebels past Nevada-Reno 87-75 Thursday night.
Also for UNLV (5-3), Chris Richardson had 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Lou Kelly had 13 points.
Garry Thomas-Hill led the Wolf Pack (7-3) with 23 points. Teammate Terrance Green had 14 points and six assists, while Corey Jackson had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
For the game, UNLV made 33-of-63 from the field and had 20 assists. The Rebels shot 5 for 9 from the 3-point range, while Nevada was 6-for-16 behind the arc.
After Nevada ran off the game's first four points, the Rebels responded with a 17-2 run and never trailed again. UNLV built its biggest lead of the first half to 14 on three occasions. The Rebels led 40-28 at halftime.
In the second half, the Rebels' lead grew to as many as 16 points three times, the last at 62-46 with 8:39 remaining. The Wolf Pack later cut the lead to 66-57 with 4:59 left, but got no closer.
