MPSF Announces Men's Soccer Academic All-Conference Team

LAS VEGAS - The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced its 2000 Academic All-Conference team for men's soccer. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, must be at least a sophomore academically, must have completed at least one full academic year at the school where they are currently competing, and must have participated in 50 percent or more of their school's games.

A total of 53 athletes earned the honor during the 2000 season, including Rebel first team, all-conference selections, junior forward Jason Melendez and junior midfielder Andrew Hooker. Melendez had a 3.25 GPA, while Hooker finished with a 3.91 GPA that earned him the second highest grade point average in the conference. Only teammate, sophomore forward Tuomas Talvio, had a higher grade point at 3.98.
