LAS VEGAS - The UNLV baseball team defeated the tenth ranked Clemson Tigers 14-6 on Friday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The win snaps a four-game losing streak for the Rebels and improves their record 5-8 on the season. Clemson drops to 4-2 with the loss.

UNLV's Jake Gann (1-1) earned the win for UNLV. He started on the mound for the Rebels and pitched five innings, giving up six runs on ten hits with four strikeouts. Courtney Hall, who finished the game, earned his first save of the season. Hall pitched four innings, giving up only two hits and striking out seven.

Clemson's starting pitcher, Ryan Childs (0-1), picked up the loss. He gave up five runs in 1.2 innings pitched.

UNLV used 19 hits to score 14 runs. Four Rebels finished with three hits each, led by Ryan Ruiz who went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Garett Shitanishi and Brad Hertel each went 3-for-4, while Trent Kitsch finished the day 3-for-5. Kitsch also hit his third home run of the season.

Tony Schuler, Joe Jacobitz and Jason Reuss all managed two hits. Reuss and Ruiz each picked up their first home run of the season.

Clemson was led by Chad Coder who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Clemson and Oregon State square off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the UNLV and Oregon State game at 1:35 p.m.
