Three Rebels Named To 2001 All-MWC Baseball Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three members of the UNLV baseball team were honored as part of the 2001 All-Mountain West Conference Baseball Team. The league's head coaches select the team.

Senior Trent Kitsch was named as first team designated hitter. Kitsch finished the season hitting .305 (60-for-197) with a team-high 15 home runs. He also drove in 62 RBIs with 15 doubles and two triples.

Senior Brad Beasley was named second team catcher. Beasley hit .273 (45-for-165) on the season with a .989 fielding percentage.

Junior David Trujillo was named second team first baseman. Trujillo led the team with a .374 (70-for-187) batting average and set the conference record with a 29-game hitting streak that came to an end in the second game of the MWC tournament.
