LAS VEGAS - UNLV junior quarterback Jason Thomas was one of 11 players listed as Heisman Trophy candidates by USA TODAY as part of the national newspaper's college football preview.

In Friday's editions, Thomas was listed 11th in the alphabetical list with the notation "NFL scouts love him, Eastern media might now know him."

Thomas, who will lead the Rebels to Arkansas next Thursday for a nationally televised rematch with the Razorbacks, is the Mountain West Conference preseason player of the year and a preseason All-American.
