UNLV POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach John Robinson:
ON THE GAME: "We made enough positives to win the game but we made enough mistakes to lose it. We're 0-2 but 0-0 in the conference and heading into a big conference game (Vs. Colorado State next Friday)."
"On defense we played well enough just like last week (in a 14-10 loss at Arkansas). We still made errors that we have to correct on both sides of the ball.
ON SPECIAL TEAMS BREAKDOWNS: "We have big holes in the kicking game that we have to shore up. We may have to have a tryout in the student body to find someone who can snap and someone who can catch the ball. We'll just go out and practice special teams harder again this week. It's not like you do it badly one week and then you'll figure out how to do it well the next. You don't have to play (special teams) badly forever."
ON UNLV RB JOE HARO'S KEY FUMBLE: "I just saw Joe leap for the first down and I was getting ready to call the next play. Then I look up and see a Northwestern player running the other way."
ON QB JASON THOMAS: "Jason played much better today. He was finally out there making passes."
ON WR MICHAEL JOHNSON: "Michael Johnson goes up and makes catches. That's what we need more of on this team."

Head Coach Randy Walker
"I said before the game that it is just great to work with such great kids. I count my blessings everyday. I couldn't be more proud of this group. You see the final product but there is so much more. It wasn't our best performance I hope, we gave up big plays, but I'm proud of their never-say-die attitude."
"Momentum is the most important part of the game. There were some big turns of momentum. We didn't do a good job of maintaining consistency."
"The real story here is the kids. I'm really proud of them."
ON UNLV: "UNLV was a much better team this week and I knew they would be. It's the difference between week one and two. Hopefully we'll improve next week."
On UNLV's focus on Damien Anderson: "They did a good job, and we suspected they would focus on him. If I was playing us, that is what I would do. We spent all spring and summer preparing for that."
On perspective after the death of Rashidi Wheeler: "It's all about trust. We are asking young men to go out there, and we must put it in perspective. When all is said in done there must be an element of trust."
