LAS VEGAS - Tommy Lasorda, former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and 2000 Olympic gold medalist with Team USA, will be the featured speaker at the First Pitch Banquet, which is an event to benefit the UNLV baseball team. The banquet, to be held on Saturday, January 26 at the Mandalay Bay Conference Center, will begin with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.
"This will be a first class event hosted in a first class environment," said UNLV head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "It's hard to find a more entertaining and informative speaker than Tommy Lasorda, especially for any baseball fan. I encourage all Rebel fans to purchase a ticket and attend this event that will be both very entertaining and financially supportive of our program."
The banquet will be the culmination of an eventful day for UNLV baseball as the Rebels host a team of alumni at Earl E. Wilson Stadium on the 26th at 2 p.m.
