Basketball To Hold Fan Jam 2002

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's basketball teams will hold Rebel Fan Jam 2002, on Wednesday, October 30, at the Thomas & Mack Center. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the event scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Fan Jam will feature a dunk contest and a scarlet and gray scrimmage for the Runnin' Rebels and a 3-point contest and a scarlet and gray scrimmage for the Lady Rebels.

Kids wearing costumes to the event will be able to trick or treat on the concourse with each Rebel sport represented with a table and student-athletes handing out posters and candy. Free posters will be available to all fans in attendance and both the men's and women's basketball teams will be available for autographs following the event. The UNLV band and cheerleaders will also be present for the festivities.

All available plaza and courtside seats for Runnin' Rebel games will be marked accordingly and be available for purchase at Fan Jam. Lady Rebel season tickets will also be on sale at the event.

The Runnin' Rebels, under second-year head coach Charlie Spoonhour, will open the exhibition schedule against Global Sports on Wed., Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The regular season begins on Nov. 24 with a home game against Portland State.

The Lady Rebels, under fifth-year head coach Regina Miller, will open the exhibition schedule against the West Coast All-Stars on Fri., Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion. The regular season begins on Sat., Nov. 23 with a home game against St. Mary's.

Season ticket holders may pick up their 2002-03 season tickets during Fan Jam on the Thomas & Mack Center concourse. Tickets not picked up at Fan Jam will be mailed later in the week.
