GAME PREVIEW

UNLV (3-5) looks for its third home victory of the season when it hosts Wyoming (2-6) Saturday in a battle of two teams looking to even their Mountain West Conference record at 2-2 ... UNLV will look for its fourth consecutive victory in the series ... Last week, the Rebels fell at first-place San Diego State 31-21 while the Cowboys broke their 17-game conference losing streak with a 34-26 upset of No. 19 Air Force in Laramie ... UNLV must win three of its last four games to become bowl eligible ... The program will make its second appearance on SportsWest in the last two weeks and the Rebels are 7-4 when appearing on the production company's network during the John Robinson era ... UNLV will attempt to break a three-game losing skid to league opponents at Sam Boyd Stadium ... The Rebels stand only 4-8 vs. Mountain West foes in Las Vegas.

COWBOYS vs. REBELS NOTES

UNLV leads the all-time series 6-4 and the Cowboys are the only MWC team against which the Rebels currently have a winning record ... Last year's 47 points by UNLV were the most ever scored under Robinson and led to the program's biggest victory margin vs. the Pokes (21) ... The Rebels won the first three games in this series by a total of 13 points ... Wyoming then had a four-game winning streak before 1999's upset victory in Laramie ... The Rebel-Poke history is a high-scoring one as the winning team has reached at least 32 points in seven of the last nine meetings and the average score for the series stands at 34-23 ... UNLV has rolled up 1,310 yards of total offense vs. UW in their first three meetings as MWC opponents ... Former UNLV QB Jon Denton set a then-NCAA freshman single-game record when he threw for 486 yards vs. UW in 1996 when both teams were in the WAC ... The last Poke victory in Las Vegas came in a 1998 28-25 thriller, which marked the last time UNLV played an overtime game at home.
