LAS VEGAS - UNLV football standout Jamaal Brimmer has been named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year by two more media outlets.
The sophomore strong safety from Las Vegas was named first team All-MWC and the league's defensive MVP by both The Sporting News and College Football News. Brimmer, who led the league in tackles for loss with 17, was named the official league player of the year on his side of the ball on Tuesday.
Joining Brimmer on the TSN first team was senior running back "Jersey" Joe Haro who became the fourth Rebel runner in history to gain 2,000 yards in a career.
CFN chose sophomore linebacker Adam Seward on its first team after the Las Vegan led the league in tackles.
