Renovations Complete on Baseball Clubhouse

March 18, 2002

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV baseball clubhouse was renovated in the winter of 2001 to create a relaxed and comfortable dressing and lounge facility. The clubhouse includes mahogany lockers, equipment storage area and shower space for 32 players. The player lounge includes a 51'' television, stereo sound system and video analysis area. Plush leather couches and chairs allow the Rebel baseball players to relax in a private setting at any time of the day.

"Renovating the locker room into a quality clubhouse atmosphere was my first facility goal as the new coach at UNLV," said Jim Schlossnagle. "Our current players instantly felt better about where they were and now have an area that is their own in which to spend time together before and after practice and games.

"Obviously, the biggest reason we built the clubhouse was to make sure that the best high school and junior college players in the country realize that UNLV is committed to great success in baseball. Facilities represent commitment and this clubhouse puts our program in line with anybody in the country."
