LAS VEGAS - UNLV sophomore lefthander Robbie Van was named MWC Pitcher of the Week on May 13.

Van, from Las Vegas, Nev. (Silverado HS), tossed his first complete game of the year in the Rebels 13-1 victory over Air Force. Van allowed one run and posted a season-high 11 strikeouts. Van has a 6-5 record and a team-high 78 strikeouts this year.

This is the fifth MWC weekly honor bestowed upon the Rebels this season. Junior Garett Shitanishi earned the honor on May 6, senior David Trujillo was honored on April 29 and Sophomore Brent Johnson is a two-time honoree on March 6 and April 1.
