LAS VEGAS - Former UNLV women's basketball standout Linda Fr?hlich will make her professional debut over the Memorial Day weekend in the WNBA regular season opener between the reigning world champion Los Angeles Sparks and New York Liberty on Saturday, May 25 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
The 6-foot-2 All-American forward has made the final team cut with a spot on the Liberty's 12-woman roster, according to Fr?hlich's agent Renee Carlson of Triple Crown Sports.
"I'm very excited," Fr?hlich said. "It's a great honor to make the New York Liberty and to play in the WNBA. I'm going to keep working hard to help this team. I have a great chance to represent UNLV and the Mountain West Conference and show the nation what we can do."
The game will be nationally televised on NBC at noon (PST). In preseason games, Fr?hlich produced two free throws, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot for two points in New York's 62-47 victory over the Houston Comets on May 18 at Madison Square Garden.
