Reuss Taken In 11th Round Of 2002 MLB Draft

LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior right fielder Jason Reuss was selected by the Houston Astros with the 341st overall pick (11th round) in the 2002 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

Reuss hit .271 (42-for-155) this season for the Rebels with 13 doubles, six home runs and a triple. He drove in 35 RBIs with a .484 slugging percentage.

UNLV has had at least one player selected in the Major League Baseball draft for the last 18 years. Reuss is the first UNLV player ever selected by the Houston Astros.

Rounds 1-22 were selected on Tuesday, with rounds 23-50 to be selected on Wednesday.
