LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Athletics Department's men's basketball season-ticket drive will begin on Sunday, June 9, with a special Lakers promotion.

Fans who become new scholarship season-ticket holders will receive free tickets to the Lakers vs. Suns NBA exhibition game, which will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center on Oct. 19.

When fans purchase a pair of plaza level scholarship season tickets they will receive two plaza level tickets to the NBA contest, which is valued at $154, and fans who purchase a pair of balcony level scholarship season tickets will receive two balcony level tickets to the NBA game (valued at $24).

This offer is only valid for new scholarship season ticket holders and is not valid when only football season tickets are purchased. It will remain available through June 28.

UNLV's men's basketball season-ticket advertising campaign will begin Sunday, months earlier than the typical advertising start date for a men's basketball season, which has traditionally begun in October.

The 2002-03 men's basketball season schedule will feature home games against Stanford, USC, Washington, the Jim Thorpe Classic event and another exciting Mountain West Conference slate.
