Henry, Loftus Shine In Scarlet & Gray Game

LAS VEGAS - A pair of transfers, junior forward RanDee Henry and junior center Amy Loftus, were the leading scorers on the night as the UNLV women's basketball team held its annual Scarlet & Gray intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday night from the Cox Pavilion.

In the first scrimmage, Henry scored 10 points, including eight unanswered points to give the Scarlet team a 16-6 win over the Gray. Sophomore Sheena Moore added four points, while Loftus scored all six points for the Gray team.

In the second scrimmage, in which some of the Lady Rebels switched teams, preseason All-Mountain West Conference junior forward Sherry McCracklin scored eight points to lead the Gray team to an 18-13 win. Loftus paced the Scarlet team with five points, while senior guard InFini Robinson added four.

For the night, Henry finished with 12 points, while Loftus posted 11, McCracklin eight, and sophomore forward Nikki Hitchens added six. Freshman Latosha Pace won the night's three-point contest with seven points, while junior Candice Sneed was close behind in second with six points.

The Lady Rebels, under sixth-year head coach Regina Miller, will open their exhibition schedule against the National Women's Basketball League on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion. UNLV's annual "Meet the Lady Rebels Night" will be on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Board Room in the Thomas & Mack Center.
