LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak on Thursday night with a 3-2 (27-30, 30-18, 26-30, 30-15, 15-9) victory over Air Force at the Cox Pavilion.
With the win, the Rebels improve to 7-8 on the season, 1-3 in the Mountain West Conference. The Falcons fall to 10-7 overall, 1-3 in league play.
Leiana Oswald led UNLV with 18 kills. She notched her third double-double of the season adding 10 digs and six blocks.
Patricia Assuncao added 16 kills and .667 (16-2-21) attack percentage in the match. She also had two service aces and five blocks.
Tarin Keith finished the match with 13 kills and seven digs, while Sheila Ocasio-Clemente rounded out the double-digit kills with 10.
Nicki King made her first appearance since injuring her ankle a few weeks back. She tallied 51 assists, three kills, three blocks and five digs.
Nina Franchini, playing in the libero spot, led the team with 14 digs.
Air Force was led by Delavane Diaz, who put up 22 kills and eight digs.
UNLV hosts New Mexico on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion.
